Direktronik expands with networks
Direktronik has a genuine interest in technology and offers knowledge, support and consultancy services, that are way beyond the usual.
The Lagercrantz Group subsidiary Direktronik is a value-adding importer and reseller of hardware for data and network communications. The company’s business idea is to offer a specialised range combined with high technical skill and good service. Direktronik has also achieved success with proprietary products within broadband access. The offer is focused on Swedish companies and resellers.
Capital released
Direktronik AB was founded in 1986 and has been developed as an owner-managed company with family members in leading positions. Lagercrantz Group acquired the company in 2007, some years after a generation change. This meant that the built up economic value was released and could be allocated irrespective of the fact that not all in the family were employed in the company. The roles of owner and managing director were separated. The previous owners have been employed in the company since then and work as the management of a subsidiary company within Lagercrantz. This implies the same responsibility and same freedom as earlier, but with a safer port of call as a basis for new ideas.

International expansion
One of the reasons for selling the company was to release the built up capital. The other principal reason was to gain access to knowledge and an interface for developing an international business. For that reason, the sellers chose Lagercrantz Group, which has a network of businessmen in the Nordic region and which can help Direktronik to grow.
Since Lagercrantz acquired Direktronik, revenue has increased by more than 20 percent and the margins have strengthened. Successful work with product development and sales focus is considered to be the primary reason. A business plan for expansion outside Sweden has been drafted since Lagercrantz came in as owner.
