Elkapsling's turfed roofs
During October, 2022, Elkapsling will deliver the first equipment shelters (TH 540) to the Swedish technology company VX Fiber. VX Fiber is a digital infrastructure specialist with more than 20 years of experience in building and operating full fiber FTTP (fibre-to-the-premises) globally.
This equipment shelter has been chosen to accommodate several data racks, which means that a larger number of fiber customers can be connected at the same spot. A shelter in this size, compared with a smaller cabinet allows for more space for necessary equipment like for example UPS-power units. Furthermore, more space also gives better opportunities to cool all installed equipment.
One extra detail with this shelter from Elkapsling is that it has been provided with sedum roofs (grass roof) and a steel trellis along the sides. This means that climbing plants can grow there and the shelters will fit in perfectly with the environment where they are going to be placed, initially in Germany but later possibly in Austria as well.
